Robert Lewandowski was born in Warsaw, Poland, and grew up in Leszno, a suburb of the capital. He began his football journey with local club Partyzant Leszno before joining MKS Varsovia Warsaw's youth system in 1997. After seven years, he moved to Delta Warsaw, where he made his senior debut. His prolific scoring in Poland's lower divisions caught the attention of top-tier clubs. In 2006, he joined Znicz Pruszków, becoming the top scorer in the Polish third and second divisions in consecutive seasons.
